🔎 New to subscriptions? First, learn how to buy an API subscription.

Accessing Your Subscription Options

1. Open the Dashboard

Log in to your WhoisFreaks Dashboard to view your account overview. If you already have a subscription, it will be shown here with the plan details.

2. Go to the Billing & Subscription Tab

In the left-hand menu, click on Billing & Subscription. This section houses all your billing and subscription management tools.

3. Upgrade/Downgrade

You will now be directed to the API Packages section, where you can toggle between Monthly and Yearly plans to view all available options. Here’s what you’ll see:

  • Your current active subscription, labeled as "Subscribed."
  • All other available plans, with labels indicating "Upgrade" or "Downgrade" based on whether the plan is higher or lower than your current one.
  • An option to switch between Monthly and Yearly plans as required.

You can move between plans or switch billing cycles — monthly to yearly or vice versa — anytime.

Click on any Upgrade (or Downgrade, if available) option to switch to another plan. A confirmation dialog will appear; simply click Yes, and your subscription will be updated to the new plan.

How the Upgrade/Downgrade Process Works

When you change your plan, here’s how WhoisFreaks handles it behind the scenes:

Unused Value is Returned

Before applying the new subscription, the system calculates:

  • The remaining credits from your current plan
  • The remaining time in your billing cycle

The balance is credited to your account based on whichever amount is lower.

Full Cost of New Plan is Deducted

The system charges the full price of your selected new plan.
If the returned balance is more than the new plan cost, the extra stays in your balance.
If the new plan costs more, the difference is charged to your payment method.

Billing Cycle Resets

Once the change is processed:

  • Your billing cycle resets immediately
  • Your new plan becomes active
  • You start fresh from that day with the new limits and features

Switching Between Monthly and Yearly Subscriptions

You can switch between monthly and yearly versions of any plan during the upgrade/downgrade process. For example:

  • Move from a monthly Standard plan to a yearly Pro plan
  • Downgrade from a yearly Business plan to a monthly Starter plan

The system handles the credit adjustment the same way; based on remaining value; and applies the new plan pricing immediately.

Total Flexibility, No Wasted Value

Whether you need more credits, higher rate limits, or just want to optimize your budget, you can adjust your API subscription with confidence. Your unused value is always credited, and you stay in control of your plan at all times.
