Registrant monitoring tracks all domains owned by a specific registrant; identified by name, email, or company. It detects when the registrant acquires new domains, drops existing ones, or when domains in their portfolio get updated.
This is particularly useful for tracking competitor domain portfolios, monitoring your own organization's domain footprint, or watching domains owned by known threat actors.
This guide walks you through setting up registrant monitoring from scratch.
Before setting up registrant monitoring, you need:
| Plan | Monitors | Price/Year |
|---|---|---|
| Registrant Monitoring (5 Monitors) | 5 | $250 |
| Registrant Monitoring (10 Monitors) | 10 | $400 |
| Registrant Monitoring (25 Monitors) | 25 | $800 |
Once your subscription is active, you can start adding registrants to monitor immediately.
Visit the Registrant Monitoring product page for full details.
Log in to your WhoisFreaks account and navigate to the Monitoring section. Click on the Registrant Monitor tab.

Fill in at least one of the required fields to identify the registrant:
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Registrant Name | Full name of the domain registrant | At least one required |
| Registrant Email | Email address used for registration | At least one required |
| Registrant Company | Organization or company name | At least one required |
You can also fill in optional fields for more precise matching:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Phone | Registrant's phone number |
| Fax | Registrant's fax number |
| Zip Code | Postal/ZIP code |
| Country | Country name |
| State | State or province |
| City | City name |
Click "Add to Monitor" when ready.

Tip: The more fields you fill in, the more precise the monitoring results. Using just a common name might return many unrelated domains.
After adding a registrant, they appear in the monitoring table:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Registrant | Name, email, or company (whichever was provided) with field type badge |
| Last Changed | When domain changes were last detected |
| View Changes | Opens the change history |
| Status | Active/Inactive toggle |
| Actions | Edit and Delete buttons |
Each registrant row shows a badge indicating which field types were used to identify them (Name, Email, Company).

To update optional fields or correct information:

When changes are detected, click "View Changes" to open the change history.
The registrant change's view shows four categories, similar to brand monitoring:
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Domains Added | New domains registered by this registrant |
| Domains Dropped | Domains no longer owned by this registrant |
| Domains Updated | Domains with WHOIS record changes |
| Domains Discovered | Previously unknown domains found for this registrant |

Each domain in the list has a lookup dropdown for quick access to WHOIS, DNS, SSL, and history tools; identical to the brand monitor's lookup feature.
Each date's changes can be downloaded as a JSON file.
Click the "Download As JSON" button below each date's change entry. The file contains the complete domain lists for all four categories.

Registrant monitoring supports Telegram notifications for change alerts.

You will receive Telegram messages whenever new brand changes are detected.
